Validation Engineer NLD @ Intelic

    • Intelic (Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Nederland)
  • Intelic

Job description

In today’s world of constant global security challenges, innovation in defense is no luxury. After years of budget cuts, military personnel needs to train and work with inadequate and insufficient equipment. We have an opportunity to change that.

At Intelic, we are a group of highly committed professionals building one of the fastest-growing start-ups based in Amsterdam. We create advanced software for unmanned systems in the defense sector. As a software company at our core, we build intelligence that give unmanned platforms the speed, coordination and reliability that critical missions demand. Our technology ensures that decisions are made with accuracy when it matters most.

Responsibilities

As a Validation Engineer at Intelic, your mission is to ensure our products are reliable, safe, and field-ready. You act as the critical link between our development teams and the end users. Your focus will be on validating technical performance, conducting hands-on testing, and gathering feedback from users in the field. You take ownership of validation procedures, provide detailed system insights to the engineering teams, and support the continuous improvement of our Command & Control systems. Whether you are preparing a system for a mission or troubleshooting during a live operation, your work ensures that our technology performs precisely as it should when it matters most.

In practice, this means:

  • Prepare and configure systems for field testing and customer delivery

  • Execute structured validation and acceptance tests for reliability, safety and compliance

  • Monitor system behavior during field exercises and live operations

  • Identify, diagnose and resolve technical issues in real time

  • Collect structured feedback from operators and translate findings into product improvements

  • Document test outcomes and system behavior, and contribute to the creation and refinement of validation criteria

Job requirements

What You Will Bring

You are a hands-on engineer with a strong understanding of how integrated systems behave in the field. With experience across hardware, software, and communications, you take ownership of validation from setup to execution. You are confident working with uncrewed systems, troubleshooting issues under pressure, and translating field performance into meaningful product feedback. A structured and detail-oriented mindset enables you to communicate effectively with both technical teams and end users. You are also comfortable working in fast-changing environments and willing to travel internationally on short notice to support field operations.

Your skillset includes:

  • At least 3 years of experience in system validation, field engineering, QA, or a similar technical role

  • Experience with embedded electronics, system wiring, communication protocols, and software integration. Skilled in troubleshooting, reading schematics, and performing field repairs.

  • Experience with uncrewed systems (such as UAVs or UGVs) in both operational and maintenance contexts

  • Proficiency with mission planning tools, RF communication systems, and diagnostic equipment

  • Skilled in technical writing, including validation reports and precise documentation of system behavior

  • Comfortable working in Linux and Windows environments, with the ability to learn new tools quickly and adapt to fast-changing, high-pressure environments

What Success Looks Like in Your First Year

  • You have led multiple validation cycles, ensuring systems are ready for real-world deployment

  • Field issues are consistently identified early and translated into meaningful product improvements

  • Validation processes and documentation standards have become more structured and reliable

  • Strong collaboration is established across engineering, product, and operational teams
